“Wrong size, wrong layout”
Every lot is different. Every homeowner has different stuff to store. A PDF plan for a 10×12 doesn’t help when your yard fits a 10×14, or when you need the door on the short wall instead of the long wall. You end up adapting someone else’s design on the fly — and that’s where mistakes happen.
“Guessing at materials”
How many 2×4s do you actually need? How many sheets of sheathing? Most plans give you a rough materials list, but not an optimized one. You buy 10% extra “just in case,” make two trips to the lumber yard, and still end up short on trim.
“No idea what it costs”
You find a plan you like, but the materials list doesn’t have prices. You won’t know the real cost until you’re standing at the register with a cart full of lumber. By then you’re committed.
Everything you need to build. Nothing you need to figure out.
Interactive 3D Design
Describe what you want in plain English — or tweak dimensions, doors, windows, and materials with simple controls. See your shed in 3D from every angle. Toggle between the finished exterior and the bare framing underneath. This isn’t a rendering someone drew — it’s generated from your exact specifications.
Framing Drawings
Wall elevations for all four walls showing every stud, header, jack stud, and cripple. Floor plan with joist layout. Roof plan with rafter positions and birdsmouth detail. These are the drawings you build from — not a pretty picture, but actual construction documents.
Optimized Cut List
The engine runs your design through a bin-packing algorithm that tells you exactly which cuts to make on which board. It accounts for blade kerf. It minimizes waste. A typical shed build wastes 8–12% of lumber. Our cut lists bring that under 5%.
Complete Materials List with Pricing
Every material quantified: framing lumber, sheathing, siding, roofing, doors, windows, fasteners, hardware. With estimated pricing so you know the total cost before you buy a single board.
Printable Shop Drawings
Print your drawing set, grab the cut list, and head to the lumber yard. The buy list is formatted so the pro desk can pull your order without you walking every aisle.
From idea to cut list in about 5 minutes.
Describe your shed
Tell us the size, roof style, where you want doors and windows — in plain English or by adjusting the controls. Our AI understands things like "I want a 12×16 workshop with double doors centered on the front wall and windows on both sides."
Review your design
Explore your shed in 3D. Check the framing. Review the materials list and cost estimate. Change anything — move a window, swap the siding, try a different roof pitch. Every change updates everything instantly.
Build it
Print your drawings and cut list. Take the materials list to the lumber yard. Build your shed knowing every board is accounted for and every cut is planned.
The $99 that saves you $300+.
Plus the soft savings:
- Zero return trips to the lumber yard because you bought the wrong quantity
- No re-cuts because you measured wrong — the cut list has exact dimensions
- No surprise costs — you know the total before you start
For less than the cost of two sheets of plywood, you get a complete design, optimized cut list, and materials pricing. The cut list alone pays for itself.
Not a PDF. Not a guess.

Built with ShedBuilder.ai
This tool was built by a shed builder who was tired of figuring out cut lists on a calculator. We use the same framing engine to run our own shed business in Charlotte, NC — every design feature exists because we needed it on a real jobsite.

The framing engine that generates your drawings is the same one used by Charlotte Shed Builders for actual construction projects. Every stud, header, rafter, and joist is placed according to standard residential framing practices — 16″ on center stud layout, California corners, double top plates, proper opening framing with king studs, jack studs, and headers. These are real construction documents, not AI art.

Depends on your jurisdiction. Most areas require permits for structures over 100–120 square feet. We always recommend checking with your local building department before you start. Our drawings can help with the permit application.
